Take a payment: cash, card, gift, or house account
When you tap Charge, the payment screen offers your enabled tenders: cash, card (through the Dejavoo terminal), gift card, and house account, plus Quick cash for fast exact-change sales. You can also split a payment across tenders — part cash, part card, for example — until the balance reaches zero.
Before you start
- Card needs a paired terminal; gift cards and house accounts must be enabled for the location.
- Have the guest's chosen payment method ready.
Steps
- Tap Charge — The pay dock shows the total and opens the payment screen.
- Pick a tender — Choose cash, card, gift card, or house account (Quick cash takes exact cash fast).
- Take the payment — For card, the guest completes on the terminal; for cash, enter the amount tendered for change.
- Split if needed — Apply one tender for part of the balance, then add another until the balance is zero.
- Finish the receipt — Print or email the receipt once the order is fully paid.
Common mistakes
- Selecting gift card or house account when the code/account can't be found — look it up before choosing the tender.
- Leaving a split payment with a remaining balance and walking away — confirm the balance hits zero.
Troubleshooting
A tender isn't offered.
That module may be off for the location — enable gift cards or house accounts, or confirm cash is turned on.
The gift card or house account is declined.
Check the balance or credit limit; the register validates before charging.
