Reprint failed labels
Label printing is queued: receiving (or the catalog) creates label jobs, and a device on the printer's network delivers them. When the printer is off, out of stock, or unreachable, jobs fail rather than disappear — so the fix is to resolve the printer issue and re-run the jobs, not to re-receive anything.
Before you start
- Fix the underlying printer problem first (power, labels loaded, network) — reprinting into a broken printer just fails again.
Steps
- Check the label queue — The label queue (in Products) shows pending and failed jobs with the products and quantities involved.
- Fix the printer — Power, label stock, and network reachability — see “Printer troubleshooting”.
- Re-run the failed jobs — Retry the failed jobs from the queue; for PO receiving labels, the PO's label prompt can re-prepare jobs for that receipt.
- Verify output — Scan one reprinted label to confirm the barcode before labeling stock.
Common mistakes
- Receiving the PO again to get labels — that doubles your stock counts. Reprint from the queue instead.
- Retrying in a loop without fixing the printer first.
Troubleshooting
Jobs keep failing after the printer is confirmed healthy.
Confirm the station or print bridge device on the printer's network is awake and on the app — it's what delivers jobs to the printer.
Duplicate labels printed.
A retry raced a slow first attempt. Discard extras; avoid rapid repeated retries.
When to contact support
- Failed jobs can't be retried, or the queue shows jobs that never existed.
