Reassign or reset a customer display

To move a customer display to a different register, or repurpose the device, you reset it: revoke or reset the station in Devices & Hardware, then erase the local pairing on the device so it returns to the provisioning screen for a fresh pairing code.

Before you start

  • Decide the display's new station, or that it's being retired.
  • Erasing local pairing needs a support PIN on the device.

Steps

  1. Reset the station in the back officeIn Devices & Hardware, revoke or reset the display's station and generate a new pairing code.
  2. Erase local pairing on the deviceOn the display, use “Erase local pairing” (support PIN required) to clear the stored binding.
  3. Re-provisionThe device returns to the provisioning screen; enter the new pairing code to pair it.
  4. VerifyConfirm the display connects to the intended register.

Common mistakes

  • Erasing local pairing without first resetting the station, leaving a stale station in the back office.
  • Reusing an expired pairing code.

Troubleshooting

The device won't re-provision after erasing.

Confirm the station was reset and a fresh code was generated, then enter it on the device.
