Add a POS station
A station is one register: a named device tied to a location. You create the station in the back office, then connect a physical tablet or computer to it using the station's install link or a short-lived activation code entered on the device.
Before you start
- Log in as an owner/admin or a role allowed to manage devices.
- Pick the correct location in the location switcher — stations belong to a location.
Steps
- Open Settings → Devices & Hardware (or POS Stations under Operations) — Both show your stations for the selected location.
- Create a station — Choose the POS Station type and give it a clear name like “Front Counter”.
- Connect the device — On the tablet, open the station install link, or go to the activation page and enter the activation code shown for the station.
- Install the app on the device — Follow the iPad or Android install article so the icon opens to this station's PIN screen.
- Verify — Sign in with a staff PIN and confirm the station shows as active in the back office.
Common mistakes
- Reusing one station across multiple physical devices — create one station per register so print routing and reporting make sense.
- Creating the station under the wrong location.
- Letting an activation code expire — codes are short-lived, so enter them promptly.
Troubleshooting
The activation code is rejected.
Codes expire quickly. Generate a fresh code and enter it immediately, in uppercase as shown.
You can't create more stations.
Station count can be limited by your plan's entitlements. The Devices page shows your allowance — contact support to raise it.
When to contact support
- You need more station entitlements than your plan allows.
- A station was activated on a lost or stolen device and needs to be revoked.
