Quick service pay and recall

In quick service, Pay can send the food and leave an unpaid pending order — for example when the guest steps away to grab a drink. That pending order stays available to charge: the pay dock shows “Pay order #### · $total” so you can recall and complete it.

Before you start

  • You're on a quick service station with a pending order.
  • Know the order number or guest call name.

Steps

  1. Find the pending orderThe pay dock shows the pending order's number and total when the cart is otherwise clear.
  2. Tap Pay orderThis reopens payment for that pending order.
  3. Charge the orderTake card, cash, or another tender to settle it.
  4. Close it outPrint or email the receipt; the pending order clears.

Common mistakes

  • Starting a brand-new order while a pending one is waiting, instead of recalling the pending order to charge it.
  • Leaving pending orders unpaid at the end of a shift — reconcile them before End of Day.

Troubleshooting

Close order shows instead of Pay order.

The order is a reopened paid ticket or owes a refund; use Close order or issue the refund as prompted.

A pending order blocks End of Day.

End of Day readiness flags open orders — pay, void, or resolve them first.
