Local storage and manual backup

Station Settings includes a Local storage panel that reports how much device storage the app is using, how many local sales are synced vs. pending, and when the last backup and cleanup ran. From here you can refresh the details or tap Back up now to run a verified backup and cleanup immediately — useful before troubleshooting or when a device is tight on space.

Before you start

  • Open Station Settings on the station you want to inspect.
  • The station must be provisioned (Back up now is disabled otherwise).

Steps

  1. Open Station Settings → Local storageThe panel lists Used, Available quota, Percent used, and sync counts.
  2. Review sync healthCheck Synced local sales, Pending sales, and Rejected sales to confirm the outbox is flowing.
  3. Refresh storage detailsTap Refresh storage details to recompute the numbers.
  4. Back up nowTap Back up now to run a verified backup; once verified, retention cleanup finishes.
  5. Confirm the resultThe panel reports “Backup verified” (and cleanup finished, when eligible).

Common mistakes

  • Reading Pending sales as lost sales — pending means not yet uploaded, and they still appear locally.
  • Expecting financial ledger rows to drop after cleanup; they're retained until a verified checkpoint exists.

Troubleshooting

Back up now is disabled.

The station isn't provisioned (or is in demo mode). Provision it, then retry.

Pending or rejected sales are climbing.

That points to a sync problem, not storage — check the network and see the sync troubleshooting guides.

When to contact support

  • Rejected sales keep growing, or Back up now reports failures with the network healthy.
