Basic device troubleshooting
Most station problems come down to three things: network, an out-of-date page, or the app being installed from the wrong link. Work through this checklist before anything drastic.
Before you start
- Know your Wi-Fi network name and whether the device is on it (not on guest Wi-Fi or cellular).
Steps
- Force-refresh the station — Pull to refresh or close and reopen the installed app. This clears most stale-data issues.
- Check the network — Open any website on the device. If nothing loads, fix Wi-Fi first — the POS is cloud-hosted and needs a connection.
- Confirm you're on the right app icon — The icon must have been installed from the station's install link; it should open to the staff PIN screen.
- Restart the device — A full power cycle clears memory pressure on older tablets.
- Reinstall the app — Delete the home-screen icon and reinstall from the station install link.
Common mistakes
- Reinstalling apps and re-provisioning stations when the real problem is the Wi-Fi.
- Running the register in a normal browser tab during service instead of the installed app.
Troubleshooting
Products or prices are out of date on one station.
Force-refresh that station. If it persists, reinstall from the station link.
The station says it can't reach the server.
Test another website on the same device. If the internet is down, sales resume when it's back.
When to contact support
- A single station misbehaves after a refresh, restart, and reinstall.
- All stations fail at once while the internet is otherwise fine.
