The kitchen display ticket board
The ticket board shows open kitchen tickets as cards. Staff mark a ticket Start when they begin it, tap Done to bump it off the board when it's ready, and can Recall a recently completed ticket if something needs to go back on. Bump all clears the whole board of open tickets at once.
Before you start
- The KDS is provisioned and receiving tickets.
- Agree on your kitchen's convention for Start vs. Done.
Steps
- Read a ticket — Each card lists items, modifiers (+), and any notes for the order.
- Tap Start — Marks the ticket as in progress so the line knows it's being made.
- Tap Done to bump — Removes the finished ticket from the open board.
- Recall if needed — Open Recall to bring a recently completed ticket back onto the board.
- Bump all — Clears every open ticket at once when the rail is caught up (confirm the prompt).
Common mistakes
- Bumping tickets before the food is actually up, so the expo has nothing to check against.
- Using Bump all mid-rush and losing track of what's still cooking.
Troubleshooting
A bumped ticket needs to come back.
Use Recall to restore a recently completed ticket to the board.
New tickets aren't appearing.
Check the network and that the item is routed to this KDS; unrouted food should still show on every KDS.
