Hold and recall an order

Hold parks the current order so you can help another guest without losing the cart. Held orders wait in the Held queue until you recall them, add more items, and take payment. It's the counter-service equivalent of setting a ticket aside.

Before you start

  • Have items in the cart — Hold is disabled on an empty cart.
  • Know that a held order stays local to your location until it's paid.

Steps

  1. Tap HoldThe current cart is parked and the register clears for the next guest.
  2. Open Held to recallThe Held list shows parked orders with their hold name or number.
  3. Recall the orderSelect it to load the cart back onto the register exactly as it was.
  4. Finish or re-holdAdd items and take payment, or Hold it again if the guest isn't ready.

Common mistakes

  • Building a long ticket without ever holding it, then losing it if the station is grabbed by someone else.
  • Leaving stale held orders parked for days — clear them out so the Held list stays useful.

Troubleshooting

A recalled paid ticket asks for payment again.

A paid order that was reopened should use Close order, not Hold — see “Reopen a paid order and issue a refund”.

The held order isn't on another station.

Held orders are tied to the location and sync in the background; give it a moment or refresh the station.
