Test an online order

One full test order proves the whole loop: storefront → order arrives in the back office → staff acknowledge it → customer picks up. Do this before you share your link anywhere.

Before you start

  • Online ordering is enabled, items are visible, and staff are near a register or the back office.

Steps

  1. Open your storefront link on a phoneUse the shareable link from Settings → Online Ordering — a phone matches how customers will see it.
  2. Place a small orderPick a pickup time and complete checkout with your name and phone.
  3. Watch it arriveThe order appears under Open online orders on the Online Ordering page (and to staff working orders).
  4. Acknowledge and complete itWork the order exactly like a real one, through completion.
  5. Fix anything that surprised youWrong prices, missing items, unrealistic pickup times — fix now, then retest.

Common mistakes

  • Testing on the office desktop only — customers order on phones.
  • Testing while online ordering kitchen/receipt printing isn't set up, then being surprised orders don't print during the real launch.

Troubleshooting

The order never appears in the back office.

Refresh the Online Ordering page and check you're looking at the right location. If it's still missing, contact support with the order time.
