Manager floor tools: 86, shifts, labels, and resync

Beyond approvals, the Manager app bundles the floor tools a manager reaches for during service. Restaurant/QSR managers can set remaining counts and 86 items (which syncs to all stations), view the 86 report, manage their selling shift, check End of Day status, and force a catalog resync to stations. Retail managers get a start-order tool, inventory lookup, purchase orders, and label queues.

Before you start

  • Signed in to the Manager app with a location session.
  • Know your store type — restaurant/QSR and retail show different tiles.

Steps

  1. Set count & 86Set a remaining count or 86 a menu item; the change syncs to every station.
  2. Check the 86 reportSee out-of-stock history with timestamps for items 86'd or counted to zero.
  3. Manage your shiftOpen or close your selling shift at the location from Shift management.
  4. Queue labels (retail)Queue shelf/price labels for stations to print from Print label queues.
  5. Force site resyncPush a full catalog refresh to stations when prices or items look stale.

Common mistakes

  • Trying to run a full End of Day from the Manager app — the full close stays on the POS; the app shows status.
  • Using item-level POS actions (void, comp, price override) from the Manager app — those run on the POS register with an active check.

Troubleshooting

An action says it must run on the POS.

Item-level actions on an active check run on the register; open Manager on the POS to perform them.

Force site resync reports the push but stations look stale.

Stations pull the new catalog generation; give them a moment and refresh a station to confirm.

When to contact support

  • An 86 or count change never reaches stations that are online.
