Connect payment processing
Card payments in Pedestal run through a Dejavoo SPIn payment terminal paired to your POS station. Your merchant account is activated as part of onboarding; once it's live, your terminals are programmed for the location under Business → Devices → Payment Terminals, and each register is assigned the terminal it sends charges to.
Before you start
- Your payment processing application must be approved — if you haven't been told it's active, ask before going live.
- Have the terminal powered on and connected to the same network as your stations.
Steps
- Open Business → Devices → Payment Terminals — This is the Dejavoo SPIn programming surface where your location's terminals are set up.
- Confirm the terminal is paired — Verify the terminal shows for your location and is paired and ready — Pedestal handles the boarding details.
- Assign the terminal to a station — Each register should know which terminal it sends charges to.
- Run a test transaction — Ring a small sale and pay with a real card, then refund it (see “Run a test transaction”).
Common mistakes
- Going live before the merchant account is approved, then assuming the hardware is broken when charges fail.
- Putting the terminal on a different network (or guest Wi-Fi) than the register.
Troubleshooting
The station can't find the terminal.
Confirm the terminal is paired under the same location, powered on, and on the same network, then retry from the station.
Charges are declined for every card.
That's usually an account or pairing issue, not the cards. Contact support with the exact error shown.
When to contact support
