Content & Takedown Policy

This policy describes how Pedestal handles customer-provided content used in merchant profiles, products, menus, online ordering, images, descriptions, receipts, email content, and other public or customer-facing areas of the service.

Customer responsibility for content

Merchants and authorized users are responsible for the accuracy, legality, ownership, permissions, and appropriateness of content they upload, enter, import, publish, or ask Pedestal to publish. This includes logos, product photos, menu photos, product names, descriptions, pricing, nutrition or allergen statements, promotional text, customer messages, and ordering-page branding.

Customers must have all rights, licenses, consents, and permissions needed to use and publish their content through Pedestal. Pedestal does not assume responsibility for customer-provided content or claims arising from customer-provided content.

Prohibited content

Customers may not upload, publish, distribute, or request publication of content that is:

  • Illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or abusive;
  • Obscene, hateful, discriminatory, exploitative, or otherwise harmful;
  • Infringing of copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other third-party rights;
  • False or misleading about products, prices, taxes, promotions, ingredients, allergens, availability, or services;
  • Malicious, including malware, credential-harvesting content, or code intended to disrupt systems;
  • Used to sell regulated goods or services in violation of applicable law or processor rules.

Review and removal procedure

Pedestal may review, disable, edit, remove, or restrict customer-provided content when Pedestal believes in good faith that the content may violate this policy, applicable law, processor or platform rules, third-party rights, or Pedestal's operational or security requirements.

  1. Receive a report, customer request, internal alert, vendor notice, or third-party complaint.
  2. Log the report and identify the merchant, content, location, public URL, and reported issue.
  3. Temporarily restrict or remove content if it presents legal, safety, security, payment, or reputational risk.
  4. Contact the merchant when appropriate and request correction, proof of rights, or additional context.
  5. Restore, edit, permanently remove, or keep content restricted based on the review.
  6. Document the outcome and any repeat-risk account notes.

Infringement and complaint reports

Reports about copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, defamation, offensive content, or other content concerns should include enough detail for Pedestal to investigate, including the public URL or screenshot, a description of the concern, the reporting party's contact information, and any proof of ownership or authorization where relevant.

Send reports to support@pedestalpos.com. Pedestal may forward relevant complaint details to the affected merchant or service provider when needed to investigate or resolve the issue.

Merchant corrections and appeals

A merchant may request restoration or correction of restricted content by providing a written explanation and documentation showing that the content is lawful, accurate, and authorized. Pedestal may decline restoration when content creates legal, payment, security, customer-protection, or platform risk.

Relationship to other terms

This policy supplements the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and any signed merchant, dealer, order form, or statement of work. Signed agreements control if they conflict with this public summary.
